'We never intended our songs to come with a pre-programmed psychological reaction.' says the group's bassist Georg Holm. 'We don't want to tell anyone how to experience and what to take from it. With the movies, we have basically no concept what the administrators are going to come returning with. None of them know what the others are doing, so hopefully it could be exciting.'

Among the 12 filmmakers operating without brief to a selected tune are Alma Har'el, whose elegiac 'Bombay Beach' won Best Documented at Tribeca 2011; Bob Cameron Mitchell, manager of 'Hedwig & The Furious Inch', 'Shortbus' and 'Rabbit Hole'; and recommended United states digital photographer He McGinley.

Then there's Icelandic efficiency specialist and sometime Kjartan Sveinsson-collaborator Ragnar Kjartansson; Arni & Kinski, the movie creators behind some of the best-loved Sigur Rós clips; and Ramin Bahrani, described by US crucial doyen Mark Ebert as 'the manager of the decade'.

Almost all of the individuals have either proved helpful with, or nearly proved helpful with, the group on one movie venture or another in the last, with Bahrani, for example, guiding the Kjartan Sveinsson-scored 'Plastic Bag', and McGinley offering protect art for the group's last record 'Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust', and motivation for the 'Gobbledigook' movie.
